DIY For Better Skin Health

Wait! Before you read the rest of the article, let me ask you a simple question. Can you think any single person who’s entirely happy with his or her physical self? Umm..tough, right! It’s nothing surprising and out of the box. Each one of us has some grief with some random part of our body, like height, weight, complexion, figure and many such. Thanks to all lovely fairy tales that have changed our concept of beauty since childhood. Prettier is she who has perfect hair, perfect body or perfect skin tone! Handsome is he who has the perfect body, perfect height, and a fair dashing look!
Talking about complexion, the concept ‘the fairer, the prettier’ has been utilized by many well-known brands. Skin whitening products are ruling Indian market since ages with no proper similarity between promises and reality. Today’s hectic lifestyle, pollution, UV rays, stress, improper diet damages skin and your skin tone. More than that, those harsh chemicals in cosmetic products are perfect to ruin your skin. But do we really need to change our complexion? No, what we need is to brighten ourselves. We need hydrated and moisturized skin, better skin texture, and an inner glow to add to our beauty. And you can do it all through being natural and organic.


1.   Milk + Honey +Lemon juice/oil Mask: Lemon juice or oil is rich in Vitamin C that helps your skin reduce melanin production and helps get rid of pigmentation.

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon Milk
1 tablespoon Lemon juice or Lemon Oil
1 tablespoon or honey

Direction to apply:
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and apply on your face. Leave it for about 20-30 minutes. Rinse your face with warm water. Pat dry your skin.
How often:
To get best results apply before going to bed every alternative night.



2.    Tomato Paste + Papaya Paste +Honey+ Lemon Juice Mask: Besides its benefits for health, papaya is great for your skin too. With its rich enzyme contents, papaya cleanses dead cells and impurities. Tomatoes too have antioxidants that protect from UV rays and promote youthful glow to your skin.
     
Ingredients:
I tablespoon of tomato paste
1½ tablespoon of papaya paste
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
½ tablespoon of honey

Direction to apply:
Mash both tomato and papaya and make a smooth thick paste. Add honey and lemon juice to it. Mix thoroughly and apply on your face. Leave it for about 20-30 minutes. Rinse your face with warm water. Pat dry your skin.

How often:
To get best results apply before going to bed at least thrice a week.



3.    Sandalwood Powder + Milk+Almond Oil: Sandalwood is known for its skin brightening properties and ability to reduce melanin production while Almond oil and Milk are perfect dirt cleanser.

Ingredients:
1½ tablespoon of sandalwood powder
1 tablespoon of milk
½ tablespoon of almond oil

Directions to apply:
Mix all the ingredients in a mixing bowl. Make a smooth paste and apply on your face. Leave it for half an hour and wash with plenty of warm water. Pat dry your skin.



4.    Aloe Vera gel + Coconut Oil +Lemon Juice: Aloe vera gel works wonder for hyper-pigmentation. Its cooling effect helps generate new skin cells thus rebuilding damaged tissues. Coconut oil moisturizes and even skin tone by reducing scars and blemishes.

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
1 tablespoon of lemon juice

Directions to use:
Cut the outer surface of an aloe vera leaf. Squeeze out the thick, jelly-like substance. Mix it evenly with other ingredients. Apply on your face and keep it for 20-30 minutes. Rinse well with warm water. Pat dry your skin.

5.   Turmeric powder + Rice Flour(dry skin: Ground oats) +Yogurt: Turmeric, the wonder spice works great for your skin too. It’s a great scrubber and an active component to brighten your skin. Yogurt, a by-product of milk, has nutrients that are good for the skin. Its lactic acids contents have bleaching properties that make your skin flawless and more glowing.

Ingredients:
2 tablespoon of turmeric powder
1½ tablespoon of rice flour (You can use ground oats if you have dry skin)
2 tablespoon of yogurt

Directions to use:
Mix all the ingredients and make a smooth paste. Apply on your face and let it dry. Wash off with warm water. Pat dry your skin. 

You can also add potato extracts (rich with bleaching agents) to all your mask recipes.
