Swimming Essentials

Aaah Summer! That long-anticipated stretch of lazy, lingering days, free of responsibility and rife with possibility. It’s time to hunt for insects, master handstands, practice swimming strokes, conquer stress, explore nooks and crannies, and make new friends.’

Swimming might be keeping your body healthy, but its’ definitely not the same case with your hair. In fact, the harmful effect of salt and chlorine is not only damaging your hair but your scalp too. In the pool, chlorine is used to kill bacteria. But, it is a harsh chemical bleach that can cause havoc to your hair. These harsh chemicals along with chlorine, overtime can damage your hair strands.

Fortuitously, you don’t have to avoid swimming to protect your hair from the damage. Follow some pre and post-swimming hair care routine faithfully for healthy shiny hair this summer.

PRE-SWIM PREP
Just like after swim care, the pre-swim coat is equally necessary.
Your hair is porous and acts as a sponge. If your hair is already saturated before the swim, it is less likely to absorb the chlorine affected water. Prepping or treating your hair with natural conditioners and oils can also prevent any chemical infusing the scalp and hair follicles.

COATING
Coat your hair with 100% pure natural oils to prevent any further damage.
Castor, Sesame and olive oil can work best for your hair as a pre-swim prep step.

Castor seed oil is commonly used for giving a strong, healthy, attractive shine to your hair. It also restores and strengthens damaged strands.

Sesame Oil is naturally anti-fungal and anti-bacterial. It is considered an excellent oil for damage repair.

Olive Oil is the ultimate natural hair conditioner. It makes your hair healthier, control falls and repair damage like frizzy hair or split ends.

AFTER SWIM CARE

CLEANSING
To begin, start with cleansing your hair with pure essential oils. Essential oils are not only great for your skin and mind, but it can act as your savior for all your hair woes.
It is recommended to use Pure Rosemary essential oil along with carrier oil like castor to cleanse your hair.

Mix 1 Tablespoon drops of Rosemary essential oil with water and rinse your hair after every swim. Rosemary essential oil stimulates your hair follicles and makes your hair strong, healthy and long.

CONDITIONING
After every wash, it is very important to condition your hair. Opt for a natural conditioner to pamper your hair for added benefits.

It is suggested to use 100% pure natural Grapeseed Carrier Oil. Grapeseed Carrier oil works best as a scalp and hair moisturizer. It contains linoleic acid nourishes the scalp and controls dandruff, restores dry, frizzy, unmanageable hair and split ends, helps your hair look shiny and strengthens hair roots.

Lock the moisture and keep chemical out with natural ingredients.

We wish you ‘Happy Hair Days’ ahead!
